Speed Test
How fast is your website from Italy and from Canada? DNS, connection, TLS, time to first byte (TTFB) and download, with redirects and a verdict.
Frequently asked questions
What is TTFB?
Time to first byte: how long from the request to the first byte of the server's response. It includes DNS, connection, TLS handshake and the server processing time.
Why do you measure from Italy and Canada?
Distance drives latency: comparing two continents tells you whether the site is slow by itself (server) or just far from its users (a CDN or a closer node is needed).
What is a good TTFB?
Under 300 ms is great, up to 800 ms acceptable; beyond that it is worth acting with server-side caching, database optimisation or HTTP/2.
